2011 Spring Appellation Tour – Friday, May 13,

11:30 am – 4:45 pm – $55 pp

Join us for a tour lead by Bob Bennett of the warmer areas of the Russian River Valley appellation. This promises to be a most interesting and informative tour at a great time of the year and will include three unique facilities.

Traveling by motor coach, we will start with Paradise Ridge Winery where Winemaker Dan Barwick will lead a tour through their winery. Dave has some unique viewpoints about winemaking and we will hear about them. This tour will be followed by a gourmet box lunch accompanied by lovely Paradise Ridge Wines while we enjoy a spectacular view from the winery deck.

Our next stop is the Shone Farm Ranch, the SRJC working farm that includes several agricultural activities. We will tour the farm with Rich Thomas who has been instrumental with the development and operation of the farm for over 25 years along with the viticulture program at the Junior College. Our tour will focus on the vineyards and the winemaking operation.

Our final stop will be at Acorn Winery and Alegria Vineyards where owner Bill Nachbauer will lead a tour of their unique vineyards. They have truly “old vine Zin” with vines in excess of 100 years old. We will close our visit with a tasting of several of their uniquely blended and highly rated wine accompanied by some light hours d’oeuvres.

Email Bob Bennett for a reservation application: bennett9@aol.com

Reservation deadline is April 11th
